I was just going to grab the Clara HD seeing it's the cheapest and it's my first one (not 100% sure if ereaders and going to suit me or not until I try). I'm looking at buying my first ever ereader, and looking at the libra. If anybody has any questions I can answer please let me know!
#KOBO AURA H2O REVIEWS UPGRADE#
As for me, I think I'll keep it just because of the Comfort light and better one-handed mode, and I hope to sell my Aura for a decent price (around 80 euros feels right?) to justify the upgrade a bit more. That said it would make an awesome first-time ebook reader, as it ticks every checkbox at a decent price. is it worth the upgrade? To be honest I don't think so, overall it's a device that's slightly better in a lot of ways, but not significantly enough in any of them to warrant the upgrade. Hopefully I'll get used to it in a few days.

The only thing that actually feels like a downgrade is the power-on button on the back, I find that very annoying. The downside here is that it feels less sturdy, although I'm sure it's actually is. The form factor is nicer, and it's slightly lighter than the Aura, which helps with one-hand usage. It's anyway more than fast for normal usage.
#KOBO AURA H2O REVIEWS PDF#
I guess it might be faster for PDF and Manga, but i didn't try those. Well, almost everything, the web browser is way faster on the Libra, but still too slow to be of any use but checking Wikipedia (I wish it has a reader mode tho!). and they feel the same, everything is display-bound. I tried to open, close, browse around the ui. 5mm instead of 1mm? But anyway it’s fine, I would probably prefer a flush screen but it’s not a deal breaker. Also, the display is not flush to the body like in the more premium models, but it’s less recessed than the one in the Aura. It's colder with no Comfort light on, but that's fine as it gets a lot warmer with it on. It's slightly bigger (but not big enough for manga for my taste, but I like to read those on my ipad so it's fine), slightly crisper and slightly brighter (but I keep mine under 10% brightness all the time, I don't want a torch in my face). The display is good, but honestly the Aura's one was good too. Totally useable in one-handed mode (for when I'm trying to keep as little of my body as possible outside of the covers), although the position in the centre makes a bit hard pressing both of them with one hand, and I feel like they should require slightly less force to press. For the buttons, they're nice and clicky.

I have no complain at all about the Comfort light, it does exactly what it's supposed to do. And to be honest? Both of those are grand. Both or those are missing on the old Aura, so the Libra wins by default. The two main reasons I upgraded are the physical buttons and Comfort light. Mine seems to be completely fine, no weird shift in colour or brightness in any spots, both at low and high brightness with Comfort light on or off. Today I got my Libra, and coming from an old Aura H2O first edition I wanted to write my first thought and if the upgrade is worth.įirst, I'll begin by saying that I seems to have won the display lottery.
